Isolation area: Bedroom 1
There are age-appropriate toys which are observed to be safe, clean and in good repair. Licensee plans on providing Lunch and two snacks to the children. There are no bodies of water or pools accessible to children in care during today’s inspection. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection. There is a fireplace in the living room that is blocked to prevent children access. Licensee states there are no firearms in the home. Licensee will not be providing Overnight Care. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, gates, and visual supervision.
The home has a fully charged 3A40 BC fire extinguisher in the kitchen, a working smoke detector, a plug-in carbon monoxide detector and a working telephone. Licensee’s CPR/ First aid certificate expires on 8/2024 and the Mandated Reporter Certificate expires on 12/19/25. Staff and Children's file was reviewed. Last Fire Drill was conducted 01/01/2024.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
