On 3/22/24 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ashley Akinleye conducted an announced prelicensing inspection. Present for the inspection was the Applicant, Sekquiree George. The hours of operation will be Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm and night care from 6:00pm-11:00pm.

The house is a two-story home. The applicant lives in the top portion and will be operating the daycare on the bottom story of the home with a separate entrance. The entrance to day care is located on the side of the home. There is two rooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom which are neat and clean with heating and ventilation for the children. The inside of the home was observed to be neat, clean with age-appropriate materials and toys for the children. During today’s inspection, LPA did not observe any hazards. The applicant has stated that there are no firearms in the home.

The on-limits areas include the second story: kitchen, living room, bathroom, and backyard. The off limits areas include the entire second floor of the home (two bedrooms/living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms), and attached garage. However, areas that need to be monitored were observed to be separated by gates/fences. The applicant states that there will be additional supervision in these cases. The isolation area will be an area within the living room where children can wait for their parents for pick up.

The home has working smoke detectors, a 2A10BC fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector and a working telephone. LPA did not observe any bodies of water in or around the home. There are 6 pets on the property.

Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records to Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted.

Prelicensing Entrance Checklist was provided to the applicant.

On this date, 2/16/24, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ.

Exit interview conducted with Sekquiree George. Appeal rights were provided.

License is effective as of 3/22/24
