25 | On 10/23/2025 at 8:55 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kayla Merchant conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection for Mirian Obermeyer's large family child care home. LPA met with licensee and and her spouse Jeffrey and was guided on a tour of the facility. During today's inspection, there are 10 children in care (6 preschoolers and 4 infants) and 12 children enrolled. Also present during inspection are two assistants . Family members residing in the home are licensee, licensee spouse and two minor children. All adults living and working in home have Criminal Record Clearances. Facility hours of operations are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
This is a single story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, backyard with a shed and side yard. The licensee has request to add the side yard to the on-limit area. The licensee utilizes the living room and dining room as the main classrooms.
ON-LIMITS: Living room, dining room, half bathroom near the living room, and 1 bedroom to the right past the entrance (used as a changing room), kitchen only as a walk thru to the back yard, back yard and side yard.
OFF-LIMITS: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, the left part of the backyard. All the off-limit areas are made inaccessible by gates, closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort of children in care. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. There is a working telephone in the home. Detergents, poisons, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are made inaccessible in the home. |
