On 05/14/2024 at 10:10AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaleesa Jackson met with Licensee Nidhi Joshi for an Annual/Random Inspection. Present during the inspection was the Licensee, her husband, license’s in-law’s, her assistant, 5 preschool aged children, and 1 infant. Licensee lives in the home with her husband, her in-law's, and their two minor children. Licensee’s home was toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 8:30AM – 5:30PM, Monday - Friday.

ON LIMITS AREA: Living Room, Family Room, Dining Room, Bathroom #1 (first door left in hallway), Bedroom#1 (first door right of hallway)
OFF LIMITS AREA: Garage, Kitchen, Bedroom #2 (2nd bedroom on right side of hallway), Master Bedroom and Bathroom
ISOLATION AREA: Bedroom #1

The facility is a single-story home owned by the Licensee. The inside of the home was observed to be neat, with age-appropriate materials for the children. During today's inspection all toxins, cleaning products, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. Licensee stated that she provides all food for the children. All food that is brought from the children’s home will be properly labeled and stored. Licensee stated that she does not provide transportation. There is one (1) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the home. There is a working smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the home. All off limit areas are made inaccessible with gates, locks, and visual supervision. The home is equipped with central heat and air for proper ventilation. There are no firearms and no pets in the home.

The backyard is fully fenced, clean, well maintained with age-appropriate materials for the children. There are two sheds, one along the left side of the home and one in the back of the home. Both sheds are made inaccessible to the children in care. There is a play structure with 2 swings and a slide. The structure has been anchored into the ground and there is cushion underneath for extra safety. There is a small water table the children were playing in with direct supervision from the assistant. Licensee informed LPA that the table is drained immediately after the children are done playing.

Licensee is operating within their licensed capacity and is in ratio. Licensee’s Health and Safety training has been completed and Pediatric CPR and First Aid training is complete and expires 11/2025. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter training expires on 5/14/2024. Licensee informed LPA that she is working on it and will be completed. All required forms are posted by the entrance in the childcare area. LPA reviewed 6 children's files and found them to be complete.

There were no deficiencies cited on today's visit.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the LICENSEE Nidhi Joshi, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
