25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee, Yan Hong, Jiang for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. Present during this inspection was Licensee, and 2 helpers supervising 3 infants and 9 preschoolers. Licensee lives in the house with her husband. The home is a two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, garage, and back yard. The hours of operation are 8:00am to 6:00pm Monday -Friday. The facility has liability insurance through next insurance company.
Day care area the living room, family room, downstairs bathroom, dining room and back yard.
Off-limit-areas are the entire second floor, kitchen, and garage, and will be inaccessible to children by locked doors, safety gates and visual supervision.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. Daycare Area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for children, indoors and outdoors. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. There are no bodies of water in the day care area. There is a fireplace in the daycare room which is permanently blocked with storage box. Per licensee there is a firearm stored in the home in the upstairs bedroom. LPA observed the firearm and ammunition stored separately. There is a gate present at the base of the stairs to prevent access to children in care. There are child size tables and chairs for snack and activities. There are ample of age-appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection. The napping room had cots in good condition and each child have their separate blankets. There is a pet dog in the home which stays in the off-limit area. The outdoor play area is fenced and is free from defects and dangerous conditions. Licensee has valid CPR. The licensee conducts and documents Fire/Disaster Drills at least twice a year, and the log indicates a drill was conducted 06/01/2023. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is redirection. LPA reviewed children’s files. All the files are complete and up to date. All required postings are properly posted. Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter. The staff will complete the required mandated reporter training when it is offered in their primary language. LPA reviewed the 15 minutes sleep check.
