32 | At 9:50AM LPA continued tour of home. The home is single story which is neat with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA observed there were ample age appropriate toys and activities that were observed to be safe and in good condition. During today's inspection all toxins, medicines, and hazardous items were inaccessible. There was a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working dual carbon monoxide and smoke detector, and telephone on the premises. The home has a fireplace but is blocked off by a screen that is properly latched. Licensee stated there are no firearms or pets. LPA toured backyard and observed a small water table that was emptied of water.
At 10:30AM, 8 children's files were reviewed and found that 3 files were not complete. One was missing immunization records. Another was missing signature on Identification and Emergency Information. The last was missing Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance. The facility roster was reviewed and a copy obtained. The facility is in ratio today. The licensee have required mandated reporter training that is completed as of 11/22/2021 and expired 2 years from this date. CPR and First Aid training for licensee is valid until 02/12/2024. The licensee conducts and documents fire drill log indicates a drill was conducted 06/21/23 and earthquake drill on 06/22/2023. All required licensing documents are posted and visible for public review.
There were 5 deficiencies cited during today's visit. See 809-D for deficiencies. Appeal rights were given to Licensee.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
