25 | On 11/2/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jonathan Williams met with Licensee, Soni Kumari Bharati, for the purposes of conducting an unannounced Case Management inspection. Present for today's inspection are the Licensee, an assistant provider (Licensee's mother), the Licensee's father and husband, and seven children in care (four preschool-aged children and three infants). All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared and associated.
Today's inspection was requested by Licensee due to additions made to the home intended for childcare. The additions to the home consist of a bathroom, closet, kitchenette ("pantry" on sketch), and living room ("hall" on sketch). The additions have heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Toys are learning equipment are safe, age appropriate, and in operable condition. Furniture was observed to be free of loose, sharp, or pointed parts. No poisons, detergents, or cleaning compounds were observed to be accessible to children anywhere in the additions. The bathroom was observed to have adequate amounts of hand soap and paper towels. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and observed to be functional.
Fire clearance was granted by Newark Fire Department for the additions on 10/14/2021. New facility sketches reflecting additions was provided to LPA and placed in facility file. Additions were observed to match the facility sketches
Based on LPA observations, Licensee is permitted to use the additions to the home for child care effective today, 11/2/2021. Licensee is advised that any further additions to the home must be reported to Community Care Licensing.
Exit interview conducted. Appeal Rights provided. Notice of Site Visit was provided and must be posted in a publicly viewable location for a period of 30 days. |
