25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Krishnabahen Parkeh for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. Present during this inspection was licensee and helper supervising three (3) infants and four (4) preschoolers. The licensee lives in the house with her husband and two minor children. The home is a two-story home with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen with dining area, a garage, and a back yard. The hours of operation are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday -Friday.
ON-LIMIT AREAS are the living room, dining area, and backyard.
OFF-LIMIT AREAS, which include the entire second floor, garage. The off limit areas are made inaccessible to children through a combination of locked doors, safety gates, and visual supervision.
LPA observed the following: Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. There are no bodies of water or Fireplace in the Day-care area during today's inspection. There are child size tables and chairs for snack and activities. The napping room had cots in good condition and each child have their separate blankets. The blankets are washed weekly by the Parents. The outdoor play area is fenced and equipped with the play structure. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. Electrical outlets have child protective covers in place making them inaccessible to children. There is a child safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs to prevent access to the stairs and upper levels to children in care.
Licensee's CPR expires on 5/2025. Licensee and helper have current Mandated Reporter training on the file. The log indicated the last drill was conducted on 06/01/2024, which falls on Saturday. Per licensee, facility do not provide care over the weekend but conducted the visit on Saturday. The licensee was instructed to conduct a visit with all children, age, and ability permitting, so all of them are aware of their duties during a emergency disaster.(see technical violation LIC9102). The licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is redirection. LPA reviewed children's files. All the files are complete and up to date. All required postings are properly posted. A copy of the children’s roster was reviewed and obtained. Licensee has a record of 15 minutes sleep check.
