25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee, Sumedha Mehra for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. Present during this inspection was Licensee supervising 3 preschoolers. Licensee lives in the house with her husband and two minor children. The home is a two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, loft, living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, garage and back yard. The hours of operation are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday -Friday. The facility has liability insurance through next insurance company.
Day care area: are the family room (main day care area) the living room, kitchen, dining area and backyard.
Off-limit-areas: the entire second floor and garage. All off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. Daycare Area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for children, indoors and outdoors. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. There are no bodies of water and fireplace in the day care area. The licensee conducts and documents Fire/Disaster Drills at least twice a year, and the log indicates a drill was conducted 02/07/2023. The napping room had cots in good condition and each child have their separate blankets. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. There are no pets in the home. There is a child safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs to prevent access to the stairs and upper levels to children in care. The backyard is fully fenced and divided into three sections. The left side and the right sides of the backyard areas are barricaded with the gate and licensee understand that the children are only allowed to use the center part of the backyard. LPA reminded licensee 100% visual and physical supervision is required when children are playing in the backyard. Licensee does not valid CPR. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is redirection. PA reviewed children’s files. All the files are complete and up to date. All required postings are properly posted.
