25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini arrived today at 12:55pm unannounced to conduct a CASE MANAGEMENT VISIT - INCREASE IN CAPACITY. All adults requiring background clearance have been cleared and associated with this facility. Upon arrival , LPA observed helper supervising five (5) children ( one infant and four preschoolers). Licensee arrived during the inspection around 12:57pm. Both the Licensees lives in the house with two minor children. The home is a two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, loft, living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, garage and back yard. The hours of operation are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday -Friday. The facility has approved fire clearance from the Dublin Fire Department with the condition that the garage and second floor cannot be used at any time.
On limit area: family room (main day care area) the living room, kitchen, dining area and backyard. Off-limit-areas: the entire second floor and garage. All off limit shall be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
There are no pools, hot tubs, ponds, or other bodies of water. All bathroom/kitchen cabinets are latched to prevent children from access. The stairway has a child safety gate to prevent access to the second floor of the house. The home has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, a working smoke detector, a working carbon monoxide detector, and a working telephone. Per Licensee, there are no firearms in the facility. The Licensee CPR and first aid certificate are current and expires 08/26/2025. The Licensee has current immunization records on file. There are no pets in the home. Licensee provides lunch and snacks. All required postings are properly posted. LPA discussed safe sleep guidelines and 15-minute check requirements.
Staff-children’s ratios were discussed with the Licensee for a Large Family Childcare Home (FCCH). If there is no helper, the Licensee will need to operate within the small FCCH in regard to ratios. If care is provided to the 7th and 8th child for a Small FCCH or the 13th and 14th child for a Large FCCH, the last two children need to be school-aged (6 years old). The licensee was advised that her ten-year-old and under children will be counted in the capacity.see next page... |
