25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Tarun Mehra for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by a helper. Licensee Sumedha Mehra arrived during the inspection. Present during this inspection was the Licensee and helper supervising three children ( two infants and one preschooler). The home is a two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, loft, living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, garage and back yard. The hours of operation are 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday -Friday.
Daycare area: This includes the family room (the main daycare area), the living room, the kitchen, the dining area, and the backyard.
Off-limit areas: the entire second floor and garage. All off-limit areas are made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. The daycare Area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys. The home has a working telephone, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher. During today's inspection, LPA observed 38 gallon aquarium tank with two small fish in the dining area. The aquarium is safe and secure. LPA reminded the Licensee that all food and cleaning products for the aquarium must be kept inaccessible to the children.The Licensee states there are no guns or weapons in the home. There are no pets in the home. The licensee was advised that when there are children in the facility under five years old, stairs need to be barricaded. ( see technical violation) The backyard is fully fenced and divided into three sections. The left and right sides of the backyard areas are barricaded with the gate, and the Licensee understands that the children are only allowed to use the center part of the backyard. LPA reminded the Licensee that 100% visual and physical supervision is required when children play in the backyard. The licensee and helper have a valid CPR and first aid card on the file. The licensee and helper have the current mandated reporter certificate on file. The Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. LPA reviewed the children's files. All the files are complete and up to date. All required postings are properly posted. |
