25 | On June 9, 2026, at 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with licensee, Wendy Hernandez. The facility is licensed as a Large Family Child Care Home with a capacity of 14 children. Upon arrival, LPA observed 15 children in care being supervised by two fingerprint cleared assistants. The facility was operating out of ratio at the time of the inspection. LPA toured the facility with the licensee, both indoors and outdoors, to conduct a health and safety inspection.
The home is rented and operated by the licensee and consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, dining room, kitchen, attached garage, and backyard. The home was observed to be clean, orderly, and well maintained. Heating and ventilation were available to ensure the safety and comfort of children in care. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
The on-limit areas include the living room, dining room, bathroom, Bedroom #1 (located across the hallway from the bathroom), Bedroom #2, and the front and backyard areas. Bedroom #1 has been designated as the isolation area for ill children and is located away from the other children in care.
The off-limit areas include the kitchen and attached garage. These areas are made inaccessible to children through closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPA inspected the cabinets and storage areas within the on-limit areas, including the living room, dining room, bathroom, Bedroom #1, and Bedroom #2. No hazardous materials, toxins, or other dangerous items were observed to be accessible to children during today's inspection.
LPA tested the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector and found both to be operable. The home is equipped with a working telephone, a complete first aid kit, a pull-down fire alarm system, and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher that meets the standards established by the State Fire Marshal. A wall heater located in the living room was observed to have an appropriate barricade/screen in place to prevent children from accessing the hot surface. LPA inquired about the presence of firearms and transportation services. The licensee stated that there are no firearms or other weapons in the home and that transportation is not provided for children in care.
