32 | Around 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) asked the licensee whether she was providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS) to children in care, and the licensee stated that she was not. LPA discussed the Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy with the licensee. LPA advised the licensee that when any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers/.
LPA inspected the cabinets and storage areas throughout the on-limit portions of the home, Rooms (1) & (2). No hazardous materials, cleaning supplies, medications, or other toxic substances were observed to be accessible to children during today's inspection. LPA tested the smoke detector located in Room 1, and the carbon monoxide detector in Room 2, and verified that both were operating properly. The home is equipped with a functioning telephone, a fully stocked first aid kit, pull down fire alarm, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher that meets the standards established by the State Fire Marshal. The wall heater located in Room 2 was adequately blocked/screened to prevent children from accessing it.
At approximately 1:50 PM, LPA inspected the outdoor play area and verified that there were no swimming pools, hot tubs, spas, or other accessible bodies of water on the property. The backyard was observed to be fully enclosed with appropriate fencing and was free of hazardous conditions. Outdoor play equipment included slides, a water play station, a climbing structure, chairs and tables, titter totters, hoop baskets, and a crawling tunnel, all of which were age-appropriate and maintained in good condition. Canopies provided adequate shade to protect children from direct sunlight during outdoor activities.
At approximately 2:00 PM, LPA reviewed the files of three (3) children enrolled in care. Each file contained the required Identification and Emergency Information, Medical Consent, and Parent's Rights forms. During the record review, LPA verified that the licensee was in compliance with applicable immunization requirements for child care providers.
The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills at least once every six months. Documentation showed that the most recent drill was completed on 03/02/26. The licensee has completed the required Health and Safety training and maintains current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, which expires in 01/2027. Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 08/04/25. LPA reviewed the facility roster and verified that it accurately reflected the children currently enrolled as well as those no longer attending the facility. All required licensing notices and documents were observed to be posted in a location that is visible and accessible for public review.
