25 | On January 24, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur conducted an UNANNOUNCED CASE MANAGEMENT INSPECTION for the purpose of a capacity increase. LPA Kaur met with licensee, Snehal Shivarkar. Present during the inspection were 3 infant age children and 3 preschool age children. Also residing in the home, license's husband Rupesh Shivarkar, minor son and preschool age child. Hours of operation for child care are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 6:00pm. The home was toured with the licensee to conduct a health and safety inspection.
ON LIMIT AREAS (accessible to children in care):Living room/day care room, bathroom located on the left side of the hallway, green top of the backyard.
OFF LIMIT AREAS (not accessible to children in care): Kitchen with nook, dining room, all three bedrooms, 1 bathroom located in master bedroom, front yard, both side yards of the backyard, and garage. The applicant was advised to ensure that the both side gates remains closed while children are outdoors. All off limit areas will be inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision. The applicant was advised to contact Licensing Department, so that an inspection can be completed prior to changing an off-limits area to on-limits. Per the fire clearance, children in care are not allowed inside the garage.
The licensee was reminded that an assistant must be present at all times when there is more than 8 children in attendance. Whenever the assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small family child care home. Licensee has current CPR/First Aid training, which expires on 2/23/2024. Licensee’s mandated reporter training expires 9/7/2022.
The home is recommended for an increase of capacity effective today, 01/24/2024.
A notice of site visit is provided and must be posted for 30 days. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Snehal Shivarker.
