25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Aruna Kovvuri for an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. During this inspection, the licensee was supervising one (1) preschooler. The licensee resides in the house with her husband and two minor children. The licensee understands that her children under ten who reside in the house will count toward the ratio. The three-story home has four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a den, laundry room, living room, kitchen, dining area, sideyard, and garage. The licensee operates Monday- Friday from 8:45 am-4:30 pm.
ON-LIMIT AREAS: Den (primary playroom) located on the first floor, adjacent half bathroom and Living room. Licensee utilizes side yard as outdoor area.
OFF-LIMIT AREAS, first floor- kitchen, storage closet (on first floor-next to the bathroom), dining area and entire second floor, third floor and garage.
LPA Saini inspected the facility for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed: The facility uses a den as the main daycare area, which is equipped with age-appropriate toys and activities. The home has a working telephone, a functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets minimum requirements. During today's inspection, the LPA did not observe any bodies of water or fireplaces. The stairs are barricaded from the base. The licensee confirmed during the visit that there are no firearms stored in the house. Per licensee, the facility provides cots and bedding to each child, and the licensee launders bedding every week.The licensee has current CPR and first aid certifications, which expire in 04/2025, and has also completed mandated reporter training. The licensee conducted the last emergency drill on 08/13/2024, and it is properly logged. The licensee provides daily snacks, and children are required to bring their lunch. The LPA reviewed the children's files, which are complete and up to date. All required postings are posted.The facility does not provide care to the infants; however, the licensee acknowledged her understanding of safe sleep guidelines. The facility roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained.
