25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Aruna Kovvuri for a CASE MANAGEMENT VISIT—INCREASE IN CAPACITY. During this inspection, the Licensee were supervising three (3) preschool aged children. The facility has an approved fire clearance with the condition that the garage remains off-limits.
ON-LIMIT AREAS: Den (primary playroom) located on the first floor, adjacent half bathroom and Living room and side yard.
OFF-LIMIT AREAS, first floor- kitchen, storage closet (on first floor-next to the bathroom), entire second floor, third floor and garage.
The home has a working telephone, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher meeting the minimum requirements. During today's inspection, no bodies of water were in the daycare area. The Licensee states there are no guns or weapons in the home. There are no pets in the house. The side yard is a designated outdoor play area, fully fenced and is free from defects and dangerous conditions. The Licensee’s CPR and first aid certificates are valid until 4/05/2027, and the Mandated Reporter certificate is valid until 2/19/2028.
Staff-children ratios were discussed with the Licensee for a Large Family Childcare Home (FCCH). If there is no helper, the Licensee will need to operate within the small FCCH in regard to ratios. If care is provided to the 7th and 8th child for a Small FCCH or the 13th and 14th child for a Large FCCH, the last two children need to be school-aged.
Licensees are reminded that walkers, exersaucer, jumpers, bouncers, and similar items may not be used for children in care and shall be made inaccessible.
