Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini arrived today unannounced to conduct the annual inspection. LPA met with licensee Xiaoping Sun. During the inspection, Licensee and helper were supervising four children ( two infants and two preschoolers). The Licensee resides in the house with her husband. The double-story house consists of three bedrooms, including the Master bedroom with an attached bathroom, two bathrooms, a family room, a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, laundry, a backyard, and a garage. Licensee operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Licensee primarily speaks Mandarin. During the inspection, the Licensee's daughter, Lu He, who lives next block and holds a family childcare license, arrived to translate. LPA reminded daughter that she can only be absent from her daycare for 20% of the daily operational hours. The daughter, LU HE, stated that she understands this requirement and is only present today to assist with translation.
ON LIMIT AREAS: are the family room( main daycare), bathroom #1 (downstairs), dining area, fenced area of the backyard, and living room ( walk through to the backyard only)
OFF LIMIT AREAS: entire second floor, laundry room( downstairs), living room, kitchen, and garage.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. The daycare area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment for children indoors and outdoors. The home has a working telephone, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher meeting the minimum requirements. During Today's inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. There are child-size tables and chairs for snacks and activities. Children have separate cots, blankets, and sheets. The Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. The Licensee has valid CPR and first aid certificate on the file. The Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. LPA reviewed children's files. All the files are complete. All required postings are properly posted. LPA reviewed and obtained a copy of the roster. The Licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills. The last drill was conducted on 03/27/2024. The Licensee will complete the required mandated reporter training when it is offered in her primary language.
