25 | On October 17, 2022 at approximately 9:20 AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required Inspection and met with Facility Representative, Mayuri Modi. During the inspection, Director, Lakshmi Nachiappan arrived. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Facility Representative. There were nineteen (29) children present during this inspection and eight (8) additional staff members. This center operates Monday - Friday 8:00AM- 6:00 PM. The facility was toured inside and out for a health and safety inspection.
CLASSROOMS: The classrooms were inspected. There are adequate play and learning materials available. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center, teacher will bring the child's water bottles outside and refill as needed. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The isolation area for sick children is in the Art Room away from other children in care until parents pick. The center has a wired smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, pull down fire alarm system, and five (5) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: The staff's bathroom is separate from the children's bathroom. All children's sinks and toilets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children can reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children. Diaper changing table is in the child's bathroom.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: There are weekly snack menus posted at the facility. Lunches is being provided by the center through a third party vendor, to the children in care. Parents will also bring the child's lunch. LPA observed an area where they have a refrigerator this area is clean and free of evidence of rodents. There are no pesticides and other similar toxic substances stored in cabinets that contains food. Director was reminded that all storage containers for solid waste must have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.
