DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC THIS PRE-LICENSE CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP VISIT WAS DONE VIA TELE-VISIT THROUGH FACETIME.

A Prelicensing Visit was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with Director Alivia Duffus. The applicant, Claudia Barrenechea, was present on site during the visit. The applicant has submitted an application for change of ownership for Preschool license with one other component (Infant with Toddler Option). The building is in front of St. Mary and St. John Coptic Orthodox Church. The center will operate Monday-Friday from 7am to 6pm in two classrooms (Room 3 and Room 4).



A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside and the measurements are as follows:

INDOORS: 1327.23 square feet = 38 children
OUTDOORS: 3455.42 square feet = 46 children

The center has obtained an approved fire clearance from Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department on 3/5/2020. The fire clearance is approved with a capacity of 38 preschoolers, 16 infants with 18 Toddler-Option children for a total of 72 for the entire center. The preschool rooms are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. There are 3 toilets, 2 urinals and 4 sinks available. The staff have a separate bathroom that is located in the church, and will also be used for sick children. Napping equipment are stored properly. Individual Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Alivia Duffus is a fully-qualified director and has completed 16 hours of health and safety training including pediatric CPR and First Aid. There is a working telephone on site. There is Carbon Monoxide detector available and there are fire extinguishers all throughout the center.

The play yard is fenced in all around. Play structures are sufficiently cushioned. Trees provide sufficient shade in the play yard. The center will bring out water for outdoor activities. The center will provide am/pm snacks. First aid supplies are available in the center. The sign in/out sheets provide for a full signature. Zero Tolerance policies were explained. The center was found to be clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair.

A license for 38 children will be issued effective today, August 10, 2020.
