25 | On June 10, 2024 at approximately 12:55PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required Annual Inspection and met with the director, Emily Hui. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. This facility is on the campus with Crosspoint Church of Silicon Valley. There were 24 children present during this inspection and seven additional staff members, this includes administrative staff. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are 08:15 AM-5:30 PM, Monday -Friday. The summer session has begun school started June 28, 2023 - July 31, 2024. New school year will start August 5, 2024.
CLASSROOMS: There are a total of four (4) classrooms. All classrooms were inspected, since it is summer session only uses 1 classroom is being used. LPA inspected and observed the children napping in Room 111, three (3) staff were in the classroom. There are adequate play and learning materials available. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. The isolation area for sick children is in the front lobby away from the children in care, until parents arrive. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There are 4 fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a functioning carbon monoxide detectors one the main lobby and one in toddler classroom), wired smoke detectors, sprinkler system, fully stocked first aid supplies, and a pull down fire alarm system. All solid waste storage containers have tight fitting covers on, and appear to be in good repair.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: This facility provides snacks for children in care and there are weekly menus posted at the facility. LPA observed an area where they have a refrigerator this area is clean and free of evidence of rodents. There is a kitchen area that is clean during today's inspection, LPA inspected the area. Pesticides and other similar toxic substances are not stored in cabinets that contains food. The families will bring the children's lunches and/or they are able to purchase from a third party vendor that the facility uses for an additional fee.
OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: There's an outdoor play area, there is no play structure, cushioning to absorb falls (artificial grass). The staff will bring the children's water bottles outdoors to keep the children hydrated. The playground is fully fenced. This facility also has a large indoor gym for indoor play that is neat and clean. Director confirmed there are no swimming pools and/or bodies of water at the facility.
