25 | On 2/6/2024 at 9:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with Director Seema Rathi for an Unannounced Required 3-Year Inspection. There were thirteen (13) toddlers, forty-six (46) preschool age children, ten (10) additional staff and five (5) child therapists present during the inspection. Six (6) classrooms, Purple Room (toddlers), Green Room (toddlers), Blue Room and the Orange Room, Yellow Room and the Peach Room (currently not in use) were toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility is on the New Bridges Presbyterian Church grounds and the preschool operates in Building 1 and Building 7. The facility operates from 7:30am – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday. The facility also holds a Heritage License for a school age program that operates in two (2) rooms in Building 7.
The facility has ample age-appropriate materials in the classrooms that were observed to be clean and in good condition. All toxins, cleaning products, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. All children’s bathrooms were observed to be clean, well maintained, free of defects, with an ample number of sinks and toilets that are in proper working order. All diaper changing areas were observed to be clean, properly padded, and free from defects. All children’s bedding was stored in individual cubbies and all sleeping cots were observed to be clean and free from defects. There are multiple fully charged fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, and first aid kits on site. There is one (1) wall heater in each classroom that has been properly gated and made inaccessible to the children in care. The facility does not transport children.
All children bring their own lunch and snacks from home. In the event that a child forgets to bring food, the facility has a back up supply. All food prep areas were observed to be clean and well maintained. All children bring their own water bottles and have access to clean drinking water.
