32 | Applicant stated that the facility will be sharing their preschool yards with Young Explorers Preschool Building 39482 on a rotating schedule upon licensure. Applicant will submit a waiver request for the shared playground yard.
LPA observed all classrooms to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. LPA observed no fireplace or open face heaters. LPA observed fully charged fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in the facility. There are 34 chairs, 7 tables, 15 cots, 2 toilets, 20 cubbies, 2 sinks, 1 urinal is available for preschool children. Staff have separate bathroom that can be utilized by sick children if needed. Sick children will be isolated in the office area of the facility. LPA observed that items that may pose a danger to children were stored in storage rooms inaccessible to children. LPA observed containers with tight-fitting lids for the disposal of solid wastes. LPA advised that Applicant maintains first-aid supplies in a location accessible to staff but inaccessible to children. LPA observed that sinks used by children deliver both hot and cold running water. Applicant was advised that hot water temperature controls shall be maintained to automatically regulate temperature of hot water delivered to plumbing fixtures used by children to attain a hot water temperature of not less than 105 degrees F (40.5 degrees C) and not more than 120 degrees F (48.8 degrees C).
The Applicant shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. Snacks is provided by the facility. Lunch will be provided by food vendor " Cash and Carry " LPA advised Applicant as per Title 22, if food is prepared off the center premises, the following shall apply: (A)The preparation source shall meet all applicable requirements for commercial food services.(B) The center shall have the equipment and staff necessary to receive and serve the food and to clean up.(C) The center shall maintain the equipment necessary for in-house food preparation, or shall have an alternate source for food preparation and service in the event of an emergency. Commercial foods shall be approved by appropriate federal, state and local authorities. All foods shall be selected, transported, stored, prepared and served so as to be free from contamination and spoilage and shall be fit for human consumption. LPA observed the facility has refrigerator and microwave in the premises. Food preparation and storage areas were observed to be clean and free of litter and rubbish. Drinking water is readily available for the children through water pitchers supplied from a filtered water source.
