25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Navitha Tumu for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. During this inspection, the Licensee was supervising three (3) preschoolers. The Licensee lives in the house with her husband and two minor children. The single-story home has a living room, a dining room, and four bedrooms, including a master bedroom, attached bathroom, hallway bathroom, hallway closet, kitchen, front yard, and backyard. The hours of operation are 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
ON LIMIT AREAS: the dining room, kitchen, living room (main daycare area), and bathroom #1, located on the left side of the hallway and backyard.
OFF LIMIT AREAS: All the bedrooms, bathroom #2, front yard, and garage.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. The home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. During the inspection, LPA did not observe any body of water. The Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. There is a fireplace in the living room, which is screened to prevent access. All kitchen and bathroom cabinets are latched to prevent children from access. The Licensee conducts and documents Fire/Disaster Drills every month, and the log indicates a drill was conducted 11/2024. There are child-size table and chairs for snacks and activities. Each child has separate cot; per Licensee, the parents wash the bedding weekly. There are no pets in the home. The backyard has a swing set and a playhouse. The Licensee’s CPR and first aid certificates expire on 2/2026, and the Mandated reporter certificate expires on 11/2025. The Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. LPA reviewed the children’s files. All the files are complete and up to date, and all required postings are properly posted. The Licensee does not currently have any infants enrolled, but licensee acknowledged the understanding of safe sleep guidelines. LPA also reminded the licensee that the licensee's children under 10 years old will be considered part of the ratio.
