32 | The outdoor play area will be the backyard, which has a fence surrounding the perimeter of yard, and is free from defects and/or dangerous conditions. There are ample age appropriate toys observed to be safe, clean and in good repair. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children today. The home has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher which is located in the first floor in the garage, working carbon monoxide and smoke detector throughout the home (tested and functioning), telephone, and fully stocked first aid kit. Applicant has installed child proof gates at the bottom of stairs to prevent access by children. Applicant is aware the gates must always be secure during day care hours. The fireplace is screened and location in the family room across from the kitchen. Per applicant, there are no firearms and no pets in the home during today's inspection.
The applicant’s health and safety training has been completed, and includes the child nutrition and lead poisoning components. EMSA approved First Aid/CPR certificate is current, expiring on 02/04/2025. A copy of the lease agreement has been reviewed and shows control of property. The applicant has provided proof of the required immunization's for daycare providers, and mandated reporter training was completed on 12/29/2022.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Because the applicant leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149).
