25 | On May 9th, 2024 at approximately 9:45am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) April Wright arrived for Case Management visit and met with Licensee Ira Thakkar. Purpose of the visit was for a Change of Location Inspection. There were no children present during today's inspection. Present during today's visit was the Licensee fingerprint cleared spouse, mother and father. The home was toured to conduct a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation will be 8:45am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
The two story home consists of four bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms (including master bathroom), living room, sitting area, kitchen, garage, and backyard. Licensee will be utilizing the Living, Dining and Sitting rooms of the home for daycare in addition to the first floor bathroom. Child safety locks remain on all the doors that are in the off limits areas and cabinets. There is a fireplace that has a glass door with lock which is secured and made inaccessible to children. There is a child safety gate in place a the bottom of the stairs to prevent access to the upper level of the home. LPA verified ownership of the residence through the deed provided by the licensee.
On limits: Living Room, Dining and Sitting Room, Bathroom, (1st floor left of hallway leading to the Sitting Room) converted garage and backyard. The converted garage will be used by for an indoor play space when the weather restricts use of the backyard and activities only. Licensee understood and acknowledged their responsibility to ensure that children never eat or sleep in the converted garage. The backyard is fully fenced and is free of defects, hazards and damage.
Off limit areas: Entire second level of the home. LPA observed there are age appropriate toys and furniture in good condition. LPA did not observe and Licensee confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or bodies of water present in the home. LPA also observed and Licensee confirmed that all hazardous materials, including cleaning products or toxins accessible to children on the premises during the inspection. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, appropriate smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors which the LPA tested and are in working condition.
