13 | On 10/21/21 at 9:25am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Emilia Grisak conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with Director Cheryl Conley. It was alleged that there is lack of supervision resulting in children biting each other. The Director was interviewed on 8/16/21 at 9:35am and stated that there was an isolated biting issue in the toddler classroom that has been handled but denied that it was due to lack of supervision. The Director stated that they tried different things such as teething rings and shadowing but ended up giving a two week notice. LPA interviewed ten parents on 9/8/21, 9/28/21, and 10/1/21 in regards to the allegation. It was stated by nine out of ten parents that there were no concerns regarding lack of supervision and it was stated by three out of ten parents that there have been biting incidents but parents felt that the facility handled it appropriately. LPA interviewed three staff on 10/5/21 and it was stated by three out of three staff that there are always enough teachers present to supervise children. It was stated in teacher interviews that there was an isolated biting issue that has since been resolved. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days. |
