32 | On 11/30/23 LPA E. Laird conducted an interview with one staff (S1). S1 denied staff are not preventing a daycare child from hurting other children in daycare. S1 stated the staff do not allow the children to play rough and will redirect them if they are getting too rough. S1 stated they will do timeout, 1 minute per age and then talk to the child about their behavior.
On 1/29/24 LPA E. Laird conducted three interviews with parents (P1, P2, and P3). P1 and P2 denied having observed children in care being harmed by another daycare child. P1 and P2 stated C1-C5 enjoy the daycare and have never reported being harmed at the daycare by another child. P3 stated they had observed C1 hit other daycare children. P3 stated they have observed the daycare children avoid C1. P3 stated C6 likes daycare and likes the staff. P3 stated the staff genuinely care about the children.
On 1/30/24 LPA E. Laird conducted two children interviews (C3, C7). C3 and C7 stated they had been hit by C1 in care. C3 and C7 stated the teachers will put C1 on timeout and tell C1 to stop when C1 is hitting. C3 and C7 stated they liked the daycare and like their teachers.
Although the incident may have occurred, there is not enough evidence to say it occurred due to lack of prevention by the staff. Therefore, although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.
An exit interview was conducted with licensee, Stacy Kinser.
