25 | A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 8:45am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kirk Marks. LPA met with applicant, Shelly Caperello. The applicant is requesting a license for preschool age children, with a capacity of 20. The facility will operate Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm. The facility has one large room separated into three sections and two bathrooms for children and one staff bathroom.
The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: Downstairs with office space and laundry room, infant area and school-age area. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of locking safety gates and door locks. There is a kitchen to store and prepare meals. Children will nap on cots and mats in the classroom. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the staff restroom.
The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There are age appropriate play structures for children to play on and adequate cushioning underneath. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The poisons are locked in a cabinet in the hallway. The stairs are barricaded with a locked door. There are safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children.
A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. There is enough indoor space for 21 children and outdoor space for 35 children. There are three toilets and three sinks available for children. The fire inspection was completed for a total of 20 children. Based on the above, the maximum capacity of the facility could be 20.
LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. |
