25 | A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 10:00am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), E. Laird. LPA met with applicant/licensee, Ashley Jacobian. The applicant/licensee is requesting a license for a capacity of 14. The facility will operate Monday-Friday, 6:00am to 6:00pm. The residence is a 3 bedroom/2 bath single story home. There is 1 adult and 3 minors currently living in the home.
The home and yard were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: garage, back yard shed, master bedroom, 1 back bedroom, and kitchen. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of baby gate, and door knob cover. There are no poisons or harsh chemicals on the premises. Licensee was reminded all poisons shall be locked. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector and fire extinguisher rated at least 2A10BC. The children will use the backyard as the outdoor play area. The backyard is completely fenced. The front yard is not fenced and faces a busy road, therefore, the applicant understands that constant supervision must be provided while children are in the front yard and an adult shall escort children whenever in the front yard. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The applicant/licensee provided proof of control of property. Because the applicant/licensee rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). |
