25 | A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 10:05am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Erica Laird. LPA met with applicant representative Tiera Frison. The applicant is requesting a license for a capacity of 8. The facility will operate 24 hour care 7 days a week. Applicant understands child care may not be provided more than 24 consecutive hours. The residence is a 4 bedroom/2 bath single story home. There are 2 adults and 3 minors currently living in the home.
The home and yard were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: All bedrooms, master bathroom, back yard shed, side dog run. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of baby gates, locks, and door knob covers. The home operates daycare in a converted garage. Poisons are locked in back yard storage shed. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector and fire extinguisher rated at least 2A10BC. The fireplace is gas/electric and not hot to the touch. Licensee has a screen, but it is not affixed to the wall. The children will use the backyard as the outdoor play area. The backyard is completely fenced.
Applicant, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
