32 | Regarding the allegation facility does not have sufficient staffing. Based on LPA observation, record review, and interviews the facility is sufficiently staffed. Executive Director Hope Bitler stated the facility recently hired 5 new care staff, and is offering a $1,500 sign on bonus, along with a competitive starting hourly pay for new hires. LPA interviewed 3 facility staff members, and 3 facility residents. The residents all agree their needs are being met and they never wait long for assistance from staff. The residents all agree they get their meds, food, and help with incontinent care daily. The staff interviewed all agree that residents’ needs are being met and there is enough staff at the facility to care for all residents. The facility staff interviewed stated despite things being tough during the recent COVID outbreak they all pulled together, worked extra shifts, and filled in different positions to make sure residents were properly cared for. Therefore, the allegation is deemed UNSUBSTANTIATED. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.
No deficiencies were cited per Title 22 Division 6 of the California Code of Regulations. An exit interview was conducted with Executive Director Hope Bitler and a copy of this report was left at the facility.
