32 | LPAs observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment were age appropriate and in good condition. The home is neat and clean with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Licensee states that she does not provide transportation. Licensee confirmed that she resides in the home. Per licensee there are no fire arms at the home during today's inspection.
Licensee tested the smoke detector (located in the bedroom main level) and carbon monoxide detector (located in the laundry room) both were functioning properly. The home is also equipped with a working telephone, a complete first aid kit, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, which meets the standards established by the State Fire Marshal, mounted on the wall in the hallway.
At 1:00PM, LPA requested and reviewed the files of four (4) children files in care and personnel files. All files contained Parent’s Rights, Identification & Emergency Information, and Medical Consent forms. During the review, LPA also checked the health records of the licensee, and children and found that the licensee is in compliance with immunization laws applicable to childcare providers. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills twice a year, with the most recent drill conducted on 04/02/2025. Additionally, the licensee completed mandated reporter training. The facility roster was reviewed and accurately reflects current children enrolled as well as those no longer attending the facility, LPA obtained a copy.
Unusual Incident/Student Injury Report: Effective August 1, 2003 California Law requires Child Care Licensees to report unusual incidents or injuries to children in care to child’s parents and to the Department of Social Services using the Unusual Incident/Injury Form (LIC 624). Incidents must be reported within 24 hours to the regional office by phone and the written report, LIC 624, within 7 business days. The licensee was also reminded that Mandated Reporter Training ("General" and "Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting www.mandatedreporterca.com.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
