25 | On 01/26/2024 at 8:40 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted an Plan of Correction (POC) inspection at Pixie Play School. This facility is a parent co-op facility. LPA met with Interim Director, Marisa Briggs and explained the purpose of this visit. During today's inspection, there were 7 preschool aged children in care with 2 parent volunteers. Interim Director stated there were 10 preschool children enrolled. Interim Director has Criminal Record Clearance.
LPA is following up on a violation the facility was given on 12/13/2023 for failure to conduct the Lead Testing. LPA has been in contact with facility regarding the procedures of Lead Testing. LPA has provided facility PIN 21-21.1 - CCP, Written Directives for Lead Testing Child Care Center Pursuant AB 2370, Chapter 676, Statues of 2018 and PIN 21-04-CCP Availability of State and Federal Funding to Test Drinking Water for Lead Contamination in Child Care Centers and for Remediation (Correction) of Lead Contamination via email. At this time, facility has not conducted Lead Testing for facility due to applying for state funds to conduct Lead Testing. Facility has requested an extension for the Plan of Correction so facility can test their water for lead. Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Sherelle Johnson received this request and has granted facility an extension for 30 days from the report date. The facility now has until close of business (COB) on 02/26/2024 to completed lead testing and provide testing results to licensing. Failure to correct will result in a $100 per day civil penalty until corrected. Repeat violations are $250 per violation and $100 per day until corrected.
During today's inspection, there were no violations observed.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Interim Director, Marisa Biggs. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
