LPA observed a working 3A40BC fire extinguisher, multiple smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Log shows that the last Fire Drill was conducted on January 9, 2024. Facility does not provide transportation for children, but Director understands that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles.

Facility’s License, Parents’ Rights Poster PUB 393, Personal Rights, Activity Schedules, and Menus were observed to be posted.

The outdoor spaces were toured with director Lisa Page for a health and safety inspection. LPA observed a gated garden near the front of the parking lot that is attached to a playground. Playground 1 is located in the lower space beyond the garden and is fenced. This playground includes a play structure, storage room and water outlets. Per the director these water outlets have been taken offline and are not used for drinking or made accessible to children in care. Site director advises water is made readily available for children and dispensed into water bottles separately for each child. LPA observed appropriate cushion beneath play structure, slides and swings to absorb falls. LPA also observed shade provided by trees and tables for leisure. Playground 2 is located near the first classroom and used for toddler outdoor play. This playground was observed by LPA to have age-appropriate toys for toddlers and accessible from both the parking lot and the classroom. Site director advises that this area is also used for parents to drop off their children after they have signed them in for the day in the front office. Playground 3 is located within the center of the facility with classrooms surrounding it. This playground is made accessible/inaccessible by gates. LPA observed there to be a big play structure, a sandbox and other age-appropriate toys. The play structure had appropriate cushion to absorb falls, and the sandbox was relatively safe and free of hazards.

LPA did not observe any large bodies of water in any of the 3 playgrounds inspected today. All play equipment that was inspected was observed to be maintained, in good condition and free of hazards.
