25 | On 12/19/24 at 9:00 am Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Mario Caro and Catherine Fernandes conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection at Kinder care Learning Center. LPAs met with Director, Kathy Conrow and explained the purpose of today's inspection. Center has a Toddler component operating in 1 room. Facility's operating days and hours are Monday to Friday from 6:45 am - 6pm in 4 Rooms on two floor levels:
Street Level: Toddler room, Preschool room, Pre-K room
Basement: Discovery preschool room
The physical plant was inspected. LPAs toured the premises with the Director.
Indoor space: Classrooms, and restrooms were inspected. There were 5 staff, Director, and 18 preschool children present. Facility was in compliance with teacher child ratios during inspection. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items dangerous to the health and safety of children were stored in places inaccessible to children. Cabinets, drawers, and rooms used for storage were locked. Furniture and equipment were age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. There is an air conditioning vent on the floor of the Pre-K room. It has a grill cover on it. Director and facility staff Rose state this vent does not have any air flow, and cover does not get hot to the touch. Restrooms for children were observed to be in safe, sanitary, and functioning condition. Floors were clean and free from tripping hazards. Foods and beverages were stored safely. Trash cans for solid waste had tight-fitting covers and were in good repair. LPAs observed a fully charged 2A-10-BC Fire extinguisher, Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Log shows that the last Fire Drill/earthquake drills were conducted in December 2024. Facility does not provide transportation for children, but Director understands that children cannot be left alone, or unattended in parked vehicles. Required postings were observed to be posted.
Outdoor space Both yards for Toddlers and Preschoolers were inspected and observed to be fenced and safe. The play equipment was maintained in good condition and free of hazards. Areas around and under high climbing equipment and slides were cushioned with material that absorbs falls. Shade is provided and there were no bodies of water observed. Drinking water is arranged to be readily available to children during indoor and outdoor activities. |
