25 | On Thursday November 30, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) M. Domantay met with Director Lori Sciacqua, for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection for an application that was submitted to change the capacity and increase the facility capacity to 24 preschoolers. Present during today's inspection were Director Lori Sciacqua and 1 staff. There were 19 preschool children upon arrival. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 10/4/2023.
LPA toured the classroom with Director. The program operates in 1 classroom. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to the health and safety of children were stored in places inaccessible to them. Furniture and equipment were age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Restrooms for children were observed to be in safe, sanitary, and functioning condition. A waiver is in place for sharing the bathroom with the Private school. Floors were clean and free from tripping hazard. Food storage area were clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. Trash cans for solid waste had tight-fitting covers and were in good repair. LPA observed a 3A10BC Fire extinguisher, combination smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors.
LPA measured 1 preschool classroom. The total classroom space contains a total of 820 square feet, which will not accommodate Applicant's request for 24 preschool children. There are 3 toilets and 2 sinks for the children, and a separate private restroom for the staff.
Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).
Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office area and will use the staff restroom, if necessary.
