Per licensee, there are no firearms or weapons in the home. LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Medicines, cleaning products, sharp objects are stored inaccessible to children. LPA reminded licensee that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers and similar items are not allowed in family child care homes. There are no stairs in the home. LPA observed 1 cat in the facility.
OUTDOOR SPACE: LPA inspected the backyard and observed the backyard is fully fenced and safe for children. LPA observed an anchored swing set, sandbox, play structure, trampoline, 5 picnic seating areas as well as age appropriate toys for children to play with. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. LPA observed a cat condo outside. Facility does not provide transportation for children, but licensees understands that children cannot be left alone, unattended in parked vehicles
LPA discussed and reminded licensees day care needs to be operated within the limitations and capacity of a Large Family Child Care Home with regards to ratios and that Licensees has to be present in the day care for 80% of the operation hours. The Licensees was reminded that an assistant is needed with a large family child care home license, and whenever an assistant is not present, the licensee will comply with the capacity requirements for a small family child care home. Licensees was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
