25 | On 08/26/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Domantay arrived at the facility for an unannounced case management inspection for a change of capacity. LPA met with Director, Kaitlin Gray. Present for today's inspection were 20 children and 3 staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm. LPA conducted a full tour of the facility to conduct a health and safety inspection with Director. All measurements remain the same from previous licensing inspection.
Fire clearance was received for 30 preschoolers from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department on 08/24/2022.
LPA observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. There are sufficient amount of sinks and toilets for children to utilize. There is a designated staff bathroom. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPA observed the preschool outdoor play yard areas, they are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPA observed ample amount of shade for children.
The building has a fully charged fire extinguisher and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.
A license for a capacity of 30 preschoolers will be made part of the license, effective today 08/26/22, and can be used when the facility is ready. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Director Kaitlin and an exit interview was conducted. |
