25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Domantay and Melissa Guirit conducted a Prelicensing inspection today, December 22, 2021 for the initial application that was submitted by the applicant. LPAs met with Director/owner, Justina Staley and husband Joshua Staley and toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. The measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 1068.8 square feet = 30 children
OUTDOORS : 2729.49 square feet = 36 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 30 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry was received from the Contra Costa County Fire Department.
LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has 2 sinks and 2 toilets. The classroom has a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Children will use personal water bottles with access to drinking water indoors and outdoors. The staff office will be used for ill children as the isolation area.
LPAs observed all outdoor play areas, they are fully fenced and have amply supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children.
