25 | On 01/19/2024 at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Watts conducted an unannounced case management – licensee initiated for Yara Figueroa Chavez's small family child care home. LPA met with licensee and guided analyst on a tour of the facility. During today's inspection, there were 5 children in care (4 preschool aged children and 1 infant) and 8 children enrolled. Also present during today's inspection was an assistant. Family members residing in the home are licensee and licensee's spouse. Licensee, assistant and all adults in the home have Criminal Record Clearance. Facility hours of operations are Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
Licensee completed her Pediatric CPR/First Aid certificate which expires 07/2025 and Mandated Reporter certificate which expires 03/2024. Licensee has documentation maintained for Measles, Pertussis Immunization's, Influenza Opt-Out statement for the current flu season. Licensing has proof of control of property. There is a working telephone in the home. Fire clearance request was approved on 01/09/2024 by Inspector B. Pizzimenti of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department.
This is a one story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 play rooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, attached garage, backyard with a locked shed on the left side and on the right side near the entrance, an outdoor play area for children.
The children on limits areas: Dining room, Living room, 2 play areas in the front of the facility, hallway bathroom and right section of the backyard near entrance.
Areas off limits include: 4 bedrooms including the master bedroom, master bathroom, kitchen, the whole left section and middle section and part of the right section of the backyard, and attached garage.
Per Inspector Pizzimenti, the middle section of the backyard going toward the left side of the yard is the licensee's 2nd emergency exit. In case of an emergency, the licensee can use the middle and left sections of the backyard. The licensee cannot use the middle and left sections of the backyard at any time outside of an emergency.
