25 | On 4/11/24 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monica Mathur conducted an announced Pre-licensing Inspection at Pratima Sonavne's home and met with Applicant, Pratima who has applied for a Small Family Child Care Home with a capacity of eight (8). Days and hours of operation will be Monday – Friday from 8 am - 6 pm. Persons living in the home are Applicant, her spouse and two minor children under 18. All adults have Criminal Record and Child Abuse Index Clearance and documentation for Tuberculosis (TB) clearance. Applicant completed 8-hour Preventative Health & Safety, Nutrition & Lead Poisoning training, 8-hour Pediatric CPR & First Aid (exp 12/28/25 ), Mandated Reporter training (exp 4/10/26), has documentation for Measles, Pertussis, Influenza opt out statement for the current flu season. Applicant plans to obtain daycare liability insurance.
INDOOR SPACE: The property includes the Main House (2 levels) and an Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) in the backyard.
MAIN HOUSE: completely off limits
Level 1: Living room, Dining room, Bathroom, Office, Kitchen, Laundry area, Attached Garage Level 2: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
ADU (for daycare use):
On Limit areas: Activity area, Bathroom
Off Limits: Kitchen area
Applicant plans to exclusively use the ADU for daycare operations and not the main house. She confirmed the unit belongs to the same postal address and parcel; and was constructed with approved city permits and requirements. Children will enter daycare through the driveway side gate. It is sanitary and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs, wall heaters or fireplace in the ADU. LPA observed fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working dual smoke, carbon monoxide detector. Medicines, cleaning products, sharp objects are stored inaccessible to children in cabinets with latches and locks. Access to off limit area is locked or gated. LPA reminded that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, johnny jumpers, saucer chairs and similar items are not allowed in family childcare homes. Applicant states there are no arms and ammunition stored in the home.
