25 | On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) M. Domantay met with Regional Director, Manjari Bhatt for the purpose of a pre-licensing inspection for a change of ownership. Applicant requests a single licensed child care center for a preschool program ages two years to first grade entry (capacity 105) license to serve a total of 105 children. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fire clearance was granted and approved on 10/7/2024 from the Rodeo-Hercules Fire Department. The facility will provide 1 morning snack and 1 afternoon snack, and lunch will be provided from home. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are 7 preschool areas: Classroom 1, Classroom 2, Classroom 3, Classroom 4, Activity Area 1, Activity Area 2, and Activity Area 3. LPA observed sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, and mats during today's inspection. LPA observed a first aid kit available in Classroom 1, located on the wall. Medications will be stored in the office entrance/reception area in a locked drawer. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Regional Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector in the facility in Classroom 3. Per Regional Director facility will utilize electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
All indoor measurements remain the same from previous pre-licensing. The total classroom space contains a total of 3634.84 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 105 preschool children. There are 9 toilets, 1 urinal, and 11 sinks for the children, and a separate private restroom for the staff is located in the hall of the facility. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office entrance/reception area and will use the staff restroom, if necessary. Page 1 |
