25 | On 03/06/2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Erica Pacheco, Ka Vang, and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced case management visit and met with Director Aletria Snowden. LPAs toured the facility inside and outside and a census was taken. The reason for today's visit it due to facility requesting to add 3 additional rooms for preschool usage. The facility will use classrooms 1-10 for preschool students.
The approximate inside square footage is 7,066. The square footage will accommodate the licensed capacity of 180 preschool children. A fire clearance was requested by the department and was granted that included the additional rooms. Fire clearance date 2/14/2024. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings. Toys and equipment are age appropriate. The facility completed lead testing for the 3 additional rooms.
During today's inspection, LPAs observed the fence by classroom 4 to have two unraveled parts that have a sharp point poking out. This is a safety hazard for children. LPAs also observed disposable cups to be sitting near the sink instead of in a disposable cup dispenser in several of the preschool classrooms. During inspection of the play yard, LPAs observed holes where the sprinklers are located, the privacy slats on the fencing around the air conditioner was coming unraveled and laying on the ground, there were mushrooms growing from the ground near one of the play structures, and the exterior wall has paint chips. Lastly, in room 10, the ceiling panels show water damage.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Aletria Snowden. Appeal rights were provided.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, the following deficiency is being cited: (see next page).
