| Lisa stated that teachers conduct wellness checks every morning during drop off and take the children's and staffs temperatures before entering the classroom. LPAs also notified Lisa that all staff entering the licensed areas that children use need to be fingerprint cleared. Public should not have any access to enter the licensed areas or use the staff bathroom that are for preschool staff. LPAs notified Lisa that the maverick staff needs to be fingerprint cleared since they have access to the playground area and staff bathrooms.
Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Lisa. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 1,803 square feet which will accommodate 51 preschool children. Lisa will amend her application and submit the decrease of capacity packet. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings in every classroom. Lisa will submit proof that there are enough tables, chairs, & cots for the 51 Preschool capacity. The cots will be stored in the closet in between classroom #4 & #5. Lisa stated that quiet play time will be available for non-sleepers. Lisa understand that additional staff will be required.
Toys and equipment appear to be age appropriate. Lisa stated that bedding/sheets get sent home to parents to get washed every week on Friday or whenever necessary. There are a total of 7 toilets and 8 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the newly requested capacity of 51 preschool children. Lisa stated that each classroom will have a water igloo with disposable cups to be used for drinking water. A water jug will be used for the outdoor play area.
The approximate outside square footage for the preschool area is 3,375 which will only accommodate 45 preschool children at a time. Lisa stated that she will stagger the children into two sessions and understands that no more than 45 preschool children will be outside at a time. Lisa understood. A waiver will be submitted an pending approval. The preschool play area has a play structure that is being remodeled and has yellow caution tape around it. There is a shade structure, has grass, bike path, and more toys for children to play with. There is a shed that can be used to store chidlrens play equipment. LPA reminded applicant to provide adequate supervision at all times.
A fire clearance for 128 children was received and granted by the Fresno Fire Department on 10/20/2021. An amended fire clearance will be required to meet the newly overall requested capacity of 101 children.
