25 | On 12/18/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Xona Xayavong conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor Neng Thao at the above facility. The purpose of today’s inspection was to check the newly installed playground ground, which was installed in the large grass area of the existing playground.
During the inspection, LPA toured the facility inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA observed that the new playground included play structures and was installed appropriately. LPA observed no hazards nor loose or pointed parts. Health and Safety Supervisor Charlotte Miranda submitted play structure specifications and an updated facility sketch. LPA confirmed that the newly installed play structure is suitable for the ages of 2 through 5. The playground structure had cushioning material in the form of resilient tile surfacing to cushion any falls. LPA observed a 30’x30’ canopy shade structure that provides adequate shade coverage for the playground structures. The new playground is fenced, and LPA confirmed with Site Supervisor Thao that it is designated only for children attending the Child Development Center. LPA has deemed the new playground is safe for future use. The facility is in the process of installing a new water fountain and will provide water igloo and cups to distribute drinking water for the children while utilizing the playground. Site Supervisor stated she will ensure staff maintain supervision zoning around the water fountain so that children in care do not have accessibility to it.
LPA advised for the staff to conduct frequent safety inspections of the play structure to check for any loose parts, cracks, and hazards. Staff is aware of child safety around the play structure and assumes all responsibility. Staff understands that children must be always supervised while utilizing the play structure. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited during today’s inspection. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Supervisor Neng Thao.
This report shall be made available to the public upon request. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
