25 | On 3/6/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez conducted a Case Management inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Jacqueline Burrell. LPA conducted a tour of the facility inside and outside.
The purpose for the inspection was due to a head-injury incident that was called in to the department on 3/5/2024. On today's inspection LPA observed Preschool Classroom #1 and observed that water table was placed in a high traffic area by the entrance door way and blocked pathway to the restroom. LPA observed three children bump into the water table as they were transitioning to the restroom on today's date. LPA spoke to Site Supervisor and informed her that it would be best practice to move table to a none high traffic area, and to keep area cleared by any furniture. Site Supervisor stated they understood.
On today's date LPA observed that Preschool Classroom #1 had two round tables and one small rectangle table on the carpet area that children were using for dinning. LPA observed that the carpet area had various smudges and food particles on it. LPA observed that children do play in that area and do get on their knees to play. LPA spoke to Site Supervisor of best practices, to move tables to hard floor were it is easier for clean up or to shampoo/ wash the carpets more often.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, no deficiency cited during today's visit.
An exit interview conducted with Supervisor, Jacqueline Burrell.
