On 04/15/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez, conducted an unannounced case management inspection that was initiated by licensee. LPA met with FUSD, Health and Safety Supervisor, Charlotte Miranda who was present and wrapping two permanent shade poles in the play structure area with cushioning material. LPA introduced herself and explained the reason for the inspection. LPA observed multiple workers repairing the play structure's floor tile in the playground. The play structure area was tapped off and there were no children present. The purpose for today's inspection was to inspect the side yard. LPA conducted a tour inside and out and observed a total of 32 children in the center.

LPA was informed on 04/12/2024 that the children's outdoor play area would be placed on off-limits due to the playgrounds floor tiles being repaired. LPA was informed that the center would like to once again utilize the play yard area that was approved on 08/03/2023 while construction was being done to the outdoor play structure. LPA met with Supervisor, Jacqueline Burrell and explained the purpose of the inspection.

LPA explained to Supervisor that LPA had conducted a tour of the play ground. LPA observed a lot of tree debris on the ground and explained to supervisor that debris will need to be cleared off before children can play in the area. Site Supervisor informed LPA that children will walk through the Middle School to get to the yard. LPA advised Site supervisor that children should be supervised at all times especially during transition. Site Supervisor stated she would speak with the principal to get clarification when the middle school children will be changing classes so it won't interfere with the preschool children. The side yard can only fit a maximum of 34 preschool children at a time. Site supervisor indicated that she will stagger the children's play time so no more than 34 are outside at the same time. A Waiver request will need to be submitted. Site Supervisor and Health and Safety Supervisor both requested a time frame of two weeks from today's date.
