13 | On 11/06/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Valerie Mireles conducted an unannounced complaint inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to deliver investigation findings. LPA met with Site Supervisor, ShaunDrelle Woods and a census was taken.
This agency investigated the complaint alleging facility has cat feces in daycare children's play area. During the course of the investigation and during facility inspection, LPA visually observed animal feces in the preschool playground mixed in the sand throughout the preschool play grounds. LPA interviewed the Director, Gloreta Johnson, who stated that they have had ongoing issues with stray cats due to the neighboring Park West Apartments. This violates children’s personal rights. Children need to be in a safe, healthful, and comfortable environment. This poses a potential health and safety risk to children in care, Based upon observations, and information gathered through interviews, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED.
