On 03/14/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Xona Xayavong conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with ECE Supervisor Charlotte Miranda. LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility and a census was taken. The purpose of today’s inspection was to inspect the newly installed playground ground.

During the inspection, LPA observed the new playground is located at the north west corner of the school premise. LPA observed no hazards nor loose or pointed parts. Health and Safety Supervisor Charlotte Miranda submitted play structures specifications and an updated facility sketch. LPA observed the play structures were secured and anchored to the ground. LPA measured the playground and it has a square footage of 4,756 and will be able to provide space for a total of 63 children. LPA observed a shed that was 10’ by 8’ feet and it was deducted from the total square footage as an encumbered space. LPA confirmed that the newly installed play structure is suitable for the ages of 2 through 5. The playground structures had cushioning material in the form of resilient tile surfacing to cushion any falls. LPA observed a 43’x35’ canopy shade structure that provides shade coverage for the playground structures. Also, LPA observed one large tree located at the north of the playground. The new playground is fenced, and LPA confirmed with ECE Supervisor Miranda that it is designated only for children attending the Child Development Center. LPA has deemed the new playground is safe for future use. The facility is in the process of testing the new water fountain for lead and staff will provide water igloo and cups to distribute drinking water for the children while utilizing the playground. LPA observed the water fountain is covered with plastic to prevent children from utilizing it. ECE Supervisor Miranda stated she will ensure staff maintain supervision zoning around the water fountain so that children in care do not have accessibility to it.
