1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 5/31/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Pacheco conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection and met with Lead Teacher (LT), Yolanda Ortega and toured the facility both inside and outside. Licensee is decreasing their preschool capacity from 51 to 21 preschool children. This facility is located on the campus of Weldon Elementary School and operates on a traditional school year schedule. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday, from 7:45 AM to 10:45 AM. Facility is no longer using Classroom C1. Breakfast will be provided and prepared at the Weldon Elementary school cafeteria. LPA observed a water dispenser provided by a third party water service with a cup dispenser inside the classroom. LT stated that if a child becomes ill, they are taken to the school nurse’s office for examination and then isolate in the library area of the classroom while waiting to be picked up by their authorized representative. LT stated that ill children use one of the two bathrooms that preschool children use and then they will sanitize them after use. LPA discussed Title 22 regulations with LT regarding the isolation of ill children. The facility operates one classroom in the Preschool building. Room measurements were taken and reviewed with LT. The square footage of the preschool classroom is approximately 731 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 21 preschool children. Adequate storage space is available for children's belongings. Outdoor measurements were taken during today’s inspection. The outdoor square footage measured to an approximate 2,892 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 21 preschool children. Mature trees provide adequate shade in the outdoor activity area. Licensee is using wood chips for cushioning under the outdoor climbing structure. LPA also observed a grass area. A working drinking fountain was observed in the outdoor area and LT stated it is used by children during outdoor activities. Outdoor storage is available for toys and equipment. Facility has a locked shed for outdoor storage. Toys and equipment observed appeared to be age appropriate. There are 2 toilets and 4 sinks/hand washing fixtures in the facility which will accommodate the requested capacity of 21 preschool children. The children’s bathrooms are located inside the Preschool Classroom. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C
